The following Frequently Asked Questions are a range of questions that are often asked of our home managers however they are not a fully comprehensive set of FAQs as this would take many pages to cover. If there are questions that you have that are not included here please feel free to contact our home managers or email us on enquiries@chanctonbury-care.com:

What are the fees?   The fees are shown on each of the home’s pages. They are always up-to-date.

Is there any help with paying fees provided by the Government or National Health Service?   Social Services are able to agree to pay fees of people who have limited funds otherwise fees have to be paid directly by the resident or their nominee.
In our nursing homes the local National Health Service will pay some element of our fees as a top-up to cover some of the nursing services that we provide. Our stated fees at Oaklands Court and Alfriston Court show the fee payable by the resident, and mention that the NHS will pay a top-up in addition.

Do you take residents whose fees are paid by Social Services?   We do believe that we should offer our care services to a broad group of people who need care and our care homes at The Queensmead and Oaklands Court do provide a percentage of rooms for Social Services paid residents. Usually the Social Services fee is less than our normal fees and we ask that the family top-up the Social Services fees to come somewhere close to our normal fee.

What if I came in as a private resident but my funds are drying-up, will you ask me to leave?   Of course not. We see your room as your home and we will always try and be helpful and generous when you have difficulties. Normally, Social Services will help if your funds fall below certain limits. We will work with you, your family and Social Services to ensure that you may stay with us as long as you want or need.
