In the past audit of care homes relied to a large extent on two annual audits by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI). However, they have now passed on the audit requirement to good care homes and only audit once per year, whilst with poor ones they still continue to audit twice yearly.

We are pleased that CSCI rate our homes as good ones, and therefore we need to provide our own Quality System.

Barrie Hignett, Chanctonbury Healthcare Ltd operations executive, has considerable experience in quality systems and audit in many blue-chip companies, and he bought this experience to bear on the provision of a Quality System for our care homes. His favourite expression to all staff and management alike is “Don’t just do it, do it very very well” (which is a play on the Nike advert – "Just Do It).
