CHANCTONBURY HEALTHCARE LTD – QUALITY SYSTEM
When designing the Quality System a lot of attention was paid to how the CSCI Inspectors audit care homes. Also, it was realised that often residents or their relatives were loath to complain because misguidedly they thought that they would receive a less of a service.

The Quality System does the following EVERY MONTH:

  • Asks residents about the care and services that they receive, through a simple questionnaire
Also asks relatives, friends and visitors how they feel that the resident is receiving care

  • Asks staff the same questions about the care that residents receive, as a cross check
Also asks staff how we are treating them

  • Asks residents about the meals that they
    receive through a simple checklist

  • A manager from another sister care home does
a monthly audit, including speaking to residents

  • We have an independent assessor who check all
our Health & Safety areas, every month

Quality System Monthly management meeting EVERY MONTH:

  • All the care home managers, the operations executive, the HR and administration managers meet every month to review the output of the previous months Quality Audit. They review trends and any issues that arise, and agree corrective actions.

  • Issues reported by residents and actions to correct are reported back to residents at the Residents meetings.

  • Performance is shown on the homes notice boards.
