The Queensmead is very well known in Polegate, and has an outstanding reputation for high quality premises, caring and service. It is a modern purpose built residential care home, surrounded by lawns and trees. It has well-appointed bedrooms, all with en-suites with toilet and washbasin. There are two well furnished lounges and a lovely open aspect conservatory. There is a large bright and airy dining room, where meals are served to the table. The kitchen was awarded ‘Only the Best 2007’ by Wealden Environmental Health Department.

The Queensmead is a happy and safe residential care home. Staff are well trained and have an overriding motivation to make residents lives a joy with a full provision of caring and support, where required. There are a set of full processes that cover all the aspects of looking after residents which is supported by an outstanding Quality System, which on a regular basis asks residents, their relatives, friends and supporters about the care and services provided. A monthly independent full Health & Safety inspection is undertaken.

The Queensmead looks after both the physical health of our residents and their needs for maintaining an interesting and active lifestyle. There is a major amount of effort by the Activities Co-ordinator to provide group and individual activities and entertainment to all residents.

Visitors are welcome to visit at any time, and will always be provided with tea and biscuits.

Our fees include:

  • Fully furnished bedroom and en-suite, with telephone and television.

  • Full cleaning and laundry services.

  • All meals, and ad-hoc tea and snacks.

  • All programmed entertainments and activities.

  • Provision of care and services staff
    (with 24 hour care cover, 365 days per week).

  • Newspaper and magazines.

Residents have to pay separately for:

  • Telephone calls

  • Hairdressing

  • Chiropody

  • Toiletries
